Squirrel Cottage is located 3 miles from Blair Atholl where you can visit Blair Castle the ancient home of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl and the Atholl Highlanders, the Duke's Private Army.

Three short miles south will take you to Pitlochry with its two distilleries, dam and fish ladder, its theatre in the hills, shops a great selection of restaurants. It is a beautiful town in its own right, highly photographed by the visitors to the area. The flowers are spectacular in the summer months with a small dedicated team who make up Pitlochry in Bloom winning many accolades over the past few years.

Killiecrankie is located at the geographic centre of Scotland, so those of you who wish to travel slightly further afield this is a good base;
Inverness and Loch Ness is 1hr 30 mins north.
The City of Stirling and the Scottish Wars of Independence is 1hr 15 mins south.
Callander and the Trossachs made famous by Sir Walter Scott 200 years ago is 1hr 30mins south.
St Andrews and East Fife famous for golf but well worth a visit for those who are not golfers with fabulous buildings, small quaint fishing villages and much more is 1hr 30mins to the south east.
The City of Edinburgh is well worth a visit, we would recommend going by train, leaving from Pitlochry or Blair Atholl stations it is about 1hr 30mins south.
