squirrel cottage guest commentsguest commentsOur first guests arrived to stay at Squirrel Cottage in April 2004. We maintain Squirrel Cottage as our own home. The objective is to provide a high quality self catering unit where guests can self indulge and pamper themselves if they choose, by providing extras and facilities that one would not always expect to find in a self catering establishment. Here are some of our 2009 guest's comments; “Enjoyed the location – the wildlife is a big plus. Nice big bedroom. Good Shower!” “A real home from home, so pleased that we found you. It’s the most well equipped cottage we’ve rented. Golf is another attraction of the area and villages in the Aviemore/Grantown area are easily accessible via the fast A9”. A. & I. L Aberdeen. 5th September 09 “Fantastic scenery – beautiful cottage. Our tandem skills were put to the test cycling around Loch Tummel – great weather and spectacular scenery. Our trips to St Andrews and Balmoral were enhanced by listening to a newly purchased Jimmy Shand CD. Never seem to see bluetits at home. Thank you Kathleen & James, The many extras that are provided are much appreciated.” “Our 4th visit in 2 yrs with No 5 booked for October! Need we say more? Squirrels & numerous bird species present constantly providing endless entertainment. Thanks to very special hosts James & Kathleen for all your help.” M. & C. Bristol 2nd May 09 “This has been our 2nd visit to Squirrel Cottage and we have enjoyed it just as much.
We visited Cluny Gardens on our first day and it was worth the trip to see the Sequoro tree – it is more amazing in real life than it looks from the leaflet – especially when you touch it. The day was bright & crisp and the spring flowers were a delight. Enjoyed our walk through the Pass of Killiecrankie – a favourite from last time – on Saturday, & on Sunday we took a walk around Loch Faskally. The rest of the time has been spent just enjoying the cottage and looking at the birds – relaxing is a great pass time. Thanks for letting us see the Roe deer, If you hadn’t phoned we would have missed it! “Three day break at Squirrel Cottage – first visit but we hope to be back in the future. A few inches of snow fell on our first night so we awoke to Christmas card scenes. All birds mentioned by others were present in pretty large numbers, though we did not see any jays or buzzards. However, the great spotted woodpecker was a regular visitor to the feeder at the back. Plenty of goldfinches and wrens attracted by niger seeds. The squirrels were hiding a little – we saw a pair on the first morning and one on the last morning but none in between. © Copyright 2004 Squirrel Cottage. All rights reserved. |
